The Remembering September 11th Teacher and Family Guides support discussion and deeper learning connections at school and at home:

• Hands-on extension activities that apply learning objectives to develop real-world skills

• Related book recommendations and additional resources

• For Teachers: a complete lesson plan for each word in the unit, including unit scope and sequence and implementation guidance

Meet OOPA's Friends

Don Pintabona was born and raised in Oceanside, New York. He is the renowned Chef of Tribeca Grill who famously organized a group of chefs, restaurant workers, and boats to serve over 1 million meals to Ground Zero first responders in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.

Elisabetta Bracer was born and raised in New Jersey. She is a high school teacher and literary theater artist who was only 1-year-old on September 11, 2001. At that time, her mother, Angelique Bracer was part of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on-site response at Ground Zero for almost a year following the attacks.
